Welcome to District Wrestling Club!
We provide folkstyle and freestyle wrestling instruction, practice, and competition for adults of all ages and backgrounds in the nation's capital.
Our room is safe, inclusive, and LGBTQ-friendly. Read our Code of Conduct here.

What Do I Need To Bring?
Wrestling shoes are highly recommended for anyone who wants to join us on the mats. We cannot have sneakers or other outside footwear on the mats, so if you don't have a pair of wrestling shoes just yet, you can practice in socks or bare feet for now. Here are our recommendations on good shoes to buy at every price range.

Other than that, any gym-appropriate attire works just fine! Please remove any jewelry before practicing as well.

This is
Abe.
Even before becoming the 16th President of the United States, Honest Abe was already famous for another reason — he was an incredible wrestler. He's even in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. And since he was probably gay, it also makes him the most famous LGBTQ wrestler in history.

At District Wrestling, we've adopted Abe as our mascot and logo because he embodies our club's ideals: meeting people with open arms, and never backing down from the Good Fight.
