Inclusivity Statement

We at District Wrestling (hereafter referred to as the Club) are constantly working to make all of our activities, communications, and actions as inclusive and affirming as possible. We cannot and will not promise that mistakes won't be made along the way, but we can and will commit to always being open to listening, learning, reflecting and improving.

How we define "inclusivity"

The Club defines "inclusivity" to mean creating and maintaining spaces that are welcoming to anyone who wants to learn, practice, compete or otherwise participate in the sport of wrestling, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or other characteristics.

Important Considerations

Ok, time for some real talk. Wrestling as a sport isn't for everyone. We want as many people as possible to join us on the mats, but we want you to do it safely, for your sake and for the sake of our members. If you have any physical conditions that would make an intense sport like wrestling exceedingly dangerous, please refrain from participating in any club mat activity. These could include, but are not limited to:

Chronic heart or lung conditions
Skin conditions like rashes
Knee, shoulder, neck or other bodily injuries
Long fingernails – just cut them, folks!

Wrestling While Queer

District Wrestling is an LGBTQ-forward club, which means we actively seek to increase queer participation in the sport. Our mats are open to everyone, but if you come to our practices or events, know that you will be practicing alongside

Accessibility Arrangements in the Organization [only add if relevant]
