Logistics

Cost

Mondays: $20 for drop-ins.
Wednesdays: $10 drop-ins.

Payable in advance here or via Venmo, PayPal or on site.

Your first practice is always free to try!

What to Wear

All wrestlers must wear gym-appropriate clothing like t-shirts and shorts; or a singlet or rash guard. Wrestling shoes are also strongly encouraged.

See our requirements here.

Structure

Warm Ups & Stretches

The first 10-15 minutes of every practice are devoted to getting you and your body ready for wrestling. Think dynamic stretching and getting your heart rate up.

Skills & Technique

The bulk of practice will focus on teaching and drilling moves. We will try to showcase one takedown, one turn, and one pinning combo each week.

Line Drills

Once we're ready to wrestle, we'll start with some basic drills like hand fighting, footwork, or shooting in on an opponent.

Live Wrestling

We close every practice with an opportunity to put those new skills to the test during live wrestling. It's up to you whether you want to participate, and how intense you want to go.

Additional Info

Security & Facilities

L'Enfant Plaza is publicly accesible during practice hours, but doors from the Metro may be locked at 7pm. If you can't get into the building, shoot us a message in our WhatsApp hotline.

Unfortunately we don't have shower facilities on site. We do have changing rooms.

Social Media/Photo/Video Policy

During practices and open mats, we'll often take photos and short video clips for us to use on social media or in promotional materials. We also close every practice with a team photo. If you don't want to be on camera, no sweat – just let club leadership know!

Getting There

The facility is Metro accessible via the Green/Yellow and Blue/Orange/Silver lines. There is also ample street parking directly in front of the Plaza on D Street SW.

See below for more details on how to find our room.

Take the escalator up to the Plaza, enter through the first set of glass doors, proceed down the hallway and make the first right. The wrestling room will be on your left.
